Most Precious Blood School
Then... In 1947, the first Kindergarten Program was started with an enrollment of 70 students. In the early 1990's our Preschool Program was formed. We also began offering before and after school Latch Key Programs to provide a safe environment for students of working parents. In 1998 we celebrated our 100 year anniversary.
Now... Our school has many supportive programs and services in place. We offer Title I, Speech, and Physical Therapy services through Fort Wayne Community Schools. We also have a School Counselor on staff. Intertwined in all of the programs is the presence of Christ and the inspiration for every member of the school community to behave Christ-like both in and out of the classroom. This is supported through the school's Discipline With Purpose program. Discipline With Purpose focuses on teaching children the self-discipline skills needed to be successful in life. We currently have an elected advisory School Board that meets monthly, and two extremely active school organizations - the Home and School Association and the Athletic Association. The Athletic Association operates under the guidance of the Catholic Youth Organization of the Diocese. Most Precious Blood School has been ranked by the Indiana Department of Education with the highest ranking, Exemplary Status, two years in a row - 2006 and 2007.
Our Vision
for the Future... Alumni maintain ties and are ambassadors for the school long after they graduate and local businesses are amenable to minor sponsorships and donations when approached. The school has the funds necessary to operate within its budget and obtain items from its wish list. Most Precious Blood School maintains its identity as a small school while enrollment in the upper grades grows to a level that sustains it into the future. Every classroom has a minimum of 20 students.
The Catholic identity of Most Precious Blood School is evident in the daily practices, behaviors, and attitudes of all stakeholders; administration, staff, students, and parents. Students engage in a wide-range of service opportunities and worship regularly, both during the week and on weekends. Students understand their faith and evangelize to promote the mission of the Catholic Church. Foreign language is integrated into the curriculum and resources are available to meet the special needs of all students. ISTEP pass rates are continuously improving with performance at some grade levels achieving the 95th percentile. A diversified approach to teaching and learning is evident. MPB is highly regarded as a top-tier school in the State of Indiana. Assessment and continuous quality improvement is achieved through meaningful data collection and analysis. MPB is the first school in the region to be recognized as an INTEL School of Distinction. Parents and guardians are actively engaged in the educational and religious activities of their children. Residents of Fort Wayne desire to send their children to MPB.
