Hello!
I am Mrs. Kim Bentley, not to be confused with my wonderful sister-in-law, the “other” Mrs. Bentley (Pre-4 teacher). I am the School Social Worker here at Most Precious Blood School. I can’t believe this is my 11th year of working here! During my time here, I have had many other roles in addition to being the school social worker that included being the 2nd grade classroom aide, 4th grade classroom aide, Preschool classroom aide, Title 1 classroom aide for middle school, Recess monitor, and of course those other duties as assigned.
I attended Manchester College (now University) where I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and my minor in Psychology in 2001. After graduating college and prior to working at MPB, I worked at Park Center, Arc of Wabash County, and Easter Seals Arc.
Many people cannot believe that I am from Mexico…Mexico, IN that is. You can find this amazing childhood town of mine just in between Wabash and Logansport along US 24. You will see the sign to turn left to Peru or right to Mexico. How in the world did I end up in Fort Wayne you ask? LOVE! Yep, I met my best friend and now husband at Manchester College. Though he was not a student there, it was obvious our paths were meant to cross. Matt and I were married in 2005 and became parents for the first time in 2007 and again in 2010. Both of our children, Delaney and Dylan, attend or attended MPB. This is Dylan’s first year of middle school and Delaney’s first year of high school…my how the time flies.
What I love most about working at MPB is that it literally feels like my home away from home. The staff here are absolutely phenomenal and really are the reason I love my job so much. We lift each other up and support one another. We are not just co-workers, we are friends, we are family. And let’s not forget about the students here at MPB. They are the reason I come to work every day. They are the reason I WANT to come to work every day. I feel so blessed to be where I am right now. Thank you parents and guardians for sharing your precious gems with us each and every day.
